Trash Pandas Make Gangsters 6-4 Losers
|
The Toronto Trash Pandas handed the Chicago Gangsters a loss at The Hideout. The final score was 6-4. Major production was provided by Pedro Rangel for Toronto. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. Tom Rise got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 1. The Gangsters fall to 9-17 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2025 season.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Sam Salas to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Trash Pandas ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Toronto manager Walt DeRosier.
