Bears Earn 7-4 Win Versus Fresno
|
Luke Peiffer had a good game, but he could not keep the Fresno Running Rebels from falling, 7-4, to the Traverse City Bears at Greensboro Grounds. The Fresno third baseman was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice in the loss. Alex Valdes got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 4 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 7. Alex de Jesus earned the save for Traverse City, his 14th.
In the bottom of the fifth, Rich Raddatz delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Traverse City center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Bears in front, 7-4.
"We took home the win," said Raddatz. "What's not to like?"
Traverse City is now 39-55, while Fresno is 42-52.
