Eskimo Brothers Topple Cougars, 7-6, as Foote Shines
George Foote, who is tied for 10th in the E-AA in doubles with 17, led Encinitas to a triumph over Rohnert Park. The final score was 7-6. The first baseman went 3 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 2 runs and added 4 RBI. Chris Porter got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 3.1 innings. Danny Wagner notched his 17th save in 17 chances.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Foote delivered big-time for Encinitas, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Gabe Sprung. The game-changing hit put the Eskimo Brothers on top, 7-6.

"Good win," said Foote. "Maybe some of the whiners in the clubhouse will pipe down for a little while now."

Encinitas, now 64-30, holds down second place in the Eastern AA Northern Division.
