The first-place Winchester Mountaineers picked up another win.

The Winchester Mountaineers thumped the Aurora Suns, 13-0, at Mountaineers Park. John Hall was a big reason his team got the win. Hall went 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Jared Trombley earned the win to go to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work.

Jeff Waterman had a big 2-run home run for the Mountaineers in the bottom of the first inning. With Winchester leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Sean Gary and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Mountaineers on top, 3-0.

"Nice to score a bunch of runs," said Waterman after the game.

Winchester improves to 69-24 with the win. They lead their division by 12 games.
