The Riverside Rotters took on the Libertyville Polecats at Field of the Polecats.

Getting offensive support from Bob Ontiveros, the Riverside Rotters topped the Libertyville Polecats, 8-4. Ontiveros hit 2 home runs for the Rotters. Pete Mead, who is tied for 5th in the E-AA in holds with 6, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-2.

Riverside needed the clutch hitting of Ken Fortin to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rotters on top, 5-4. For the game, Fortin had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"This team has the heart of a lion," said Rotters manager Hermenegildo Fernando.

The win puts Riverside at 65-30 this season.
