Rotters Turn Back Mermen, 3-2

The Riverside Rotters and Corpus Christi Mermen played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
In a tight tilt between the Riverside Rotters and the Corpus Christi Mermen, Mark Herrera was the deciding factor. The Riverside right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The Rotters have now reeled off 9 straight wins.
Gene Wenzel, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA with a .297 batting average, took Corpus Christi hurler Chad Bendon deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Rotters on top, 3-2. In all, Wenzel had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
