Macrina Swings Rotters to 5-1 Win
The Riverside Rotters dealt the Libertyville Polecats a 5-1 loss at Field of the Polecats. Kyle Macrina, who is tied for 9th in the E-AA in bases on balls with 44, was the star on offense. He was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Carl Bennett earned the win, while 23-year old left-handed pitcher Danny Villa took the loss for Libertyville. The win gives Riverside a season record of 53-39.

There was more than one reason the Rotters beat the Polecats, but Macrina's big at-bat in the top of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
