Philadelphia turned a fine outing from starter Albert Fabian into a victory over the Halifax Heathens at Estadio Azteca. The final score was 3-1. Fabian yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. Vince Mellon, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Danny Pierce, who finished 4th in the AC in on-base percentage with .399 in 2023, had a direct impact on the outcome. Pierce contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-1.
