Kovatch Lifts Eskimo Brothers to 9-4 Win
|
Cameron Kovatch knocked in 4 runs to help Encinitas beat Traverse City, 9-4. Kovatch produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Mark Moore, who is tied for 2nd in the E-AA in wins with 8, was the winner in relief. His record is now 8-3. The losing pitcher was Pedro Solano. Josh Kuhn got credit for the save for Encinitas. It was his 2nd of the year.
Encinitas used a timely hit from Tim Schellin to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Eskimo Brothers ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Schellin after the game.
The Eskimo Brothers now have a record of 65-26 with the win over Traverse City.
