The Winchester Mountaineers beat the Aurora Suns, 4-2, at Mountaineers Park. The Mountaineers got a fine performance from first baseman Ryan Burchett, who was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Winchester reliever Omar Cons picked up the win, upping his record to 9-1. Jon Dye absorbed the loss. This win makes it 9 in a row for Winchester.
With Winchester leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Burchett hit a 2-run single off Aurora hurler Jon Dye. It was the 111st hit of the season for Burchett and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"This team is doing whatever it takes to win," said Mountaineers manager Mitchell Young.
