Fleet Earn Clutch Win, 6-5
|
San Francisco designated hitter Dennis Quesada had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Quesada hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, even as San Diego beat the Fire, 6-5, in 10 innings. With the win, San Diego climbs to 13-12.
Gabe Howard came through with a big-time hit for San Diego. The center fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Fleet manager Brian Burnett.
