Bears Win, 5-2, at Mescalero

The Traverse City Bears defeated the Mescalero Chiefs, 5-2, at Chiefs Ballpark. Traverse City first baseman B.B. Bugbee had a superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Bears go to 46-41, putting them third in the Eastern AA Northern Division.
With Traverse City leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Bugbee hit a changeup from Eric Sawyer for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Bears ahead, 5-1.
Traverse City manager Zach Hildebrant praised his team's "energy."
