Rohnert Park designated hitter Tommy Hendershot had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Libertyville Polecats, 10-2. Joe Russell earned the win. Conroy Hill, who is tied for 4th in the E-AA in complete games with 1, took the loss for Libertyville. Logan Penny was credited with the save for Rohnert Park, his 1st of the season.
With Rohnert Park leading 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Hendershot came up to bat against Libertyville pitcher Jim Unknown. Hendershot hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Cougars on top, 10-2.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Hendershot told the Rohnert Park Gazette.
The Cougars improved their record to 40-48 with the win over Libertyville.
