5-Hit Barrage by Van Sant
|
David Van Sant really sizzled at the plate in his team's 9-2 win over the Washington Wildthings. The Mesa first baseman blistered Washington for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Van Sant was too tough to get out today," the Wildthings skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
David Van Sant hit a solo-shot off Bill Gallihugh in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
So far this year, Van Sant is batting .299 with 17 home runs and 60 RBIs.
