Though he had a stellar game, Luis Casanova could not prevent his team, the Rohnert Park Cougars, from losing, 6-4, to the Mesa Razor Sharks. Casanova went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. Nate Roberson was the winner. He's now 6-4. The loser was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Rod Montalvo. Mike Price picked up the save for Mesa, his 1st of the year.

Mesa got a lift in the bottom of the fourth from left fielder Steve Anderson, who hit a fastball to right for a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Razor Sharks up, 4-3.

"We ground out the win," said Anderson. "That's all that matters."

The 5th-place Cougars have lost 4 straight games.
