Eagles Beaten By Royals, 7-3
|
Despite a great performance by Indianapolis designated hitter Jerry Robinson, the Cincinnati Royals defeated the Eagles by the score of 7-3 at The Castle. Robinson slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. With the loss, Indianapolis falls to 16-9.
The Royals got a big at-bat from left fielder Eric Hayes. For the game, Hayes went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 3-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hayes said.
