Brown Excels in 10-8 Traverse City Win
The Traverse City Bears beat the Alcoa Millionaires, 10-8, at Alcoa Grounds. Traverse City second baseman Wally Brown had an outstanding performance. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. Kevin Gibbons, who is tied for 3rd in the E-AA in complete games with 1, was the winner. He's now 6-8. The loser was Israel Beristain. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Andrew Tanner.

With Traverse City leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Brown hit a fastball from Israel Beristain for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Bears ahead, 4-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Brown told the Traverse City Gazette.

The win puts the Bears at 33-55, while the Millionaires drop to 30-58.
