Mountaineers Earn 4-3 Win Versus Dread Kings
Winchester pitcher Jerome Abney had a large part in his team beating the Boise Dread Kings, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Winchester is in first place in the Eastern AA Southen Division with a record of 60-26.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Jason Lewis came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Boise pitcher Reynaldo Beltran, he hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Winchester on top, 4-3.

"We've got a great group of guys," Abney said, "and we're having fun right now."
