Thompson drives in 5 runs, Leads Boise to 10-7 Win
Boise and Mesa duked it out and the Dread Kings came out victorious.

The Boise Dread Kings stopped the Mesa Razor Sharks, 10-7, at Ballpark of Boise. The Dread Kings got a big game from Joel Thompson, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Robert Velasquez, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 5 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 4-5. Steve Wright earned the save for Boise, his 1st.

Thompson contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Boise in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 4-1, Thompson took a cutter from Daniel Yanez and stroked the home run to right. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Dread Kings to leap in front, 5-4.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Boise manager Sean Drummond.

With the win over Mesa, the Dread Kings improved to 45-41.
