Cougars Pin 3-2 Loss on Mesa
|
Starting pitcher Chris Zuniga gave the Rohnert Park Cougars a rock-solid effort. The Orange, California native helped his team defeat the Mesa Razor Sharks, 3-2, at Razor Sharks Ballpark. Chris Hinojosa earned his 8th save, after closing out the game. The Cougars improved their record to 39-47 by beating Mesa.
David Pierce, who is tied for 5th in the E-AA in doubles with 17, took Mesa hurler Isiah Key deep in the top of the sixth. His solo home run put the Cougars on top, 2-1. In all, Pierce had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
Rohnert Park manager Ramiro Mendiola called it "a pretty good win."
