Riverside Wins, 2-1, Over Dread Kings

Boise got a terrific performance from pitcher Robert Velasquez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Riverside Rotters. Riverside won the Rotters Ballpark contest, 2-1. Velasquez threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Riverside reliever Pete Mead picked up the win to move to 3-2. Alex Lozada suffered the loss. With the win, Riverside pushed its record to 56-25.
Mike Chaloux played the role of hero for Riverside. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a 2-run home run off Alex Lozada to win the game. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Chaloux said.
