Yard Dogs Win, 10-2, at Traverse City

The Mobile Yard Dogs beat the Traverse City Bears, 10-2, at Greensboro Grounds. Ernie Johnson, who is tied for 5th in the E-AA with a .290 batting average, starred for Mobile. He was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Mobile pitcher Josh McPherson got the win. He's now 6-4. Willie Morales was tagged with the loss. Mobile is now 51-32, 12½ games up in the Eastern AA Northern Division.
Greg Gasaway went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs for Mobile. The 26-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Willie Morales. It was his 54th RBI of the season.
Said losing manager Ray Johnson: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
