Armando Gomez had a hand in Encinitas defeating Washington by the score of 5-3. Gomez went 3 for 5 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 2 runs. Encinitas reliever Danny Wagner picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Scott Meredith absorbed the loss. Vinny Luna recorded the save for Encinitas, his 6th of the season.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Gomez delivered big-time for Encinitas, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Scott Meredith. The game-changing hit put the Eskimo Brothers on top, 5-3.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Gomez.

The 'W' lifts Encinitas's record to 57-25.
