Wildthings Lay Egg, Lose 13-2 to Libertyville
|
The Libertyville Polecats scored a convincing win at Red Barons Ballpark, defeating the Washington Wildthings, 13-2. One of the hitting stars was 22-year old second baseman R.J. DeStefano who was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Libertyville is third in the Eastern AA Northern Division with a record of 40-39.
Libertyville used a clutch at-bat from Chris Scoville to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Polecats ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Polecats manager Justin Thiede.
