The Winchester Mountaineers had no problem beating the Mesa Razor Sharks, 11-0, at Mountaineers Park. Ben Everly, who is tied for 10th in the E-AA in runs scored with 62, led the onslaught. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Winchester. Jon McDonald earned the win for Winchester. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 8-2. Winchester has now won 4 in a row.
Early in the game, Everly had a 3-run home run for Winchester. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Mountaineers on top, 3-0.
Said losing manager Danny Schexnayder: "We did everything to set the stage for them to beat us."
