Mescalero starter Victor Luna pitched well against the Washington Wildthings at Red Barons Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 7-5. Mescalero reliever Marvin Henderson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Alex Guzman was saddled with the loss. The Chiefs improved their record to 48-31 with the win over Washington.

Mescalero used the clutch hitting of Dave Semones to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Semones told the Mescalero Observer.
