The Winchester Mountaineers routed the Traverse City Bears, 11-0, at Mountaineers Park. Kasey Miller, who is tied for 6th in the E-AA in runs scored with 47, was one of the hitting stars. He went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Winchester. The winner in relief was Josh Banks. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 6-1. Steve Gryder got the save, his 19th in 22 chances.

Winchester took the lead, 6-0, on George Kinder's 15th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Traverse City pitcher Matt Bandy in the bottom of the eighth.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Miller said. "We did a good job of that today."

The third-place Bears have dropped 5 straight games.
