Behind a solid performance from center fielder Mike Smith, the Alcoa Millionaires defeated the Aurora Suns, 6-5. Smith was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Millionaires. Alcoa reliever Jim Unknown was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Gary Day took the loss. The 4th-place Millionaires improved to 23-54.

Bill Hensley was the walk-off hero for Alcoa. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Millionaires right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
