Behind a solid performance from shortstop Ken Fortin, the Riverside Rotters defeated the Winchester Mountaineers, 7-3. Fortin went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Rotters. The Rotters now have a record of 52-23 with the win over Winchester.

The Rotters got a big hit from second baseman Aarto Turkula. Facing Winchester pitcher Travis Brenza in the bottom of the fifth, Turkula pounded a 2-run double to center. His 11th double of the season put the Rotters ahead, 3-0.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Turkula said.
