The Aurora Suns and Mesa Razor Sharks provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Mesa Razor Sharks, despite a fine performance by Aurora pitcher Vicente Perez, grabbed a 3-2 win at Razor Sharks Ballpark. Perez allowed 2 runs over 6 innings. John Barnes, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-6. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.
Matt Flanders, who is tied for 10th in the E-AA in triples with 2, aided the Mesa cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"Both teams played hard," said Mesa manager Danny Schexnayder.
The slumping Suns have lost 6 straight.
