Daytona Beach Sea Turtles starter Alan Champagne turned in a top-notch performance against the Hollywood Stars at Leatherback Park. The result was a win for the Sea Turtles, 2-1. Champagne got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The loss drops Hollywood to 2-1.

Eric Kraft had a big solo home run for the Sea Turtles in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Daytona Beach leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a sinker from 11-year veteran Matthew Rowlands and swatted a home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Turtles ahead, 2-0.
