Libertyville Polecats starter Mitch Wojciechowski hurled his team past the Washington Wildthings, 2-1. Eric Volmar earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record is now 2-1. The win has Libertyville at 27-50.

Libertyville took a 2-1 lead on Jeff Bernard's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Bernard hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Washington pitcher Scott Meredith visibly frustrated.
