Chiefs Hang 7-5 Loss on Millionaires
|
The home team gave the crowd at Chiefs Ballpark something to cheer about.
The Mescalero Chiefs beat the Alcoa Millionaires, 7-5, at Chiefs Ballpark. The win was due in part to designated hitter David Villanueva, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Kareem Craig got the win, improving to 4-4. He held the Millionaires to 4 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 3.
Villanueva contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Mescalero in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-0, Villanueva took a fastball from Chris Nagel and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Chiefs to leap in front, 4-3.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said , the Alcoa manager.
The Millionaires have now dropped 5 straight.
