The Washington Wildthings weathered a fine game by Aurora shortstop Jose Casas to upend the Suns, 8-5, at Suns Field. Casas went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ian Hobby snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-3 on the season. Armando Rivera suffered the loss. Josh Pegan closed out the game, earning his 1st save.

In the top of the eighth, Washington shortstop Steve Bloomquist gave his team the lead. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sparrow hit his 21st double of the year. Aurora pitcher Armando Rivera surrendered it. With that, the Wildthings jumped in front, 6-5.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Bloomquist.

The Wildthings raised their record to 8-64.
