Eskimo Brothers Pull Out Late-Game Win, 6-5
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers and Boise Dread Kings.
The performance of Andy Acosta proved critical in helping Encinitas beat Boise, 6-5. The Eskimo Brothers third baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Brian Hayden was credited with the save for Encinitas, his 4th of the season.
Had Acosta not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Acosta hit a 3-run home run. The Eskimo Brothers took the lead, 6-3, and never looked back.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Encinitas manager John McKearney.
With the win, Encinitas raised its record to 50-24.
