The 8-6 New York win over Detroit was due largely to Ryan Stanczak. The Nightmare center fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Detroit falls to 17-8.

New York got a game-changing hit from Jesus Cardona. The right fielder blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Cardona.
