Starting pitcher Edgar Minero was a major factor in the 3-2 Corpus Christi Mermen triumph over the Boise Dread Kings. Corpus Christi currently is in 4th place in the Eastern AA Southen Division at 34-39.

Corpus Christi used the timely hitting of Gary Draeger to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mermen on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Draeger attributed the win to his team's "determination."
