Winchester Beats Riverside, 3-0
|
In a tight affair between the Winchester Mountaineers and the Riverside Rotters, pitcher Denny Mason was in the zone. The Winchester left-hander helped his team win the game, 3-0. Steve Gryder earned the save, his 18th, for the Mountaineers. Winchester, at 51-22, occupies first place in the Eastern AA Southen Division.
Early in the game, center fielder John Hall had a 2-run home run for Winchester. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Mountaineers on top, 2-0.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Mason.
