The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers outlasted Jerry Perez and the Libertyville Polecats, 9-8. Perez was impressive in the loss. The Libertyville center fielder went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Encinitas has now won 6 in a row.
Dean Hostetler had a big 2-run double for the Eskimo Brothers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Encinitas trailing 5-4 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Conroy Hill and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eskimo Brothers ahead, 6-5.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Hostetler told the Encinitas Bulletin. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
