Wildthings Lose to Mountaineers in Walk-Off
|
The outcome was not decided until the very end at Mountaineers Park.
Jason Lewis helped his team muscle past the Washington Wildthings, 4-3. In the game, the Winchester shortstop was 2-4 with 2 home runs. Winchester reliever Steve Gryder was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-2. John Richardson took the loss for Washington.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Lewis hit a fastball from John Richardson for a solo home run. The Mountaineers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Lewis said his team "played with focus."
Winchester has now won 3 straight, while the Wildthings have lost 3 in a row.
