The Traverse City Bears could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ahmed Harris into a win. Instead, the Aurora Suns prevailed, 5-4. Harris threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Aurora reliever Mike Carachure got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Danny Arroyo was tagged with the loss. Mike Braasch closed the game out for Aurora, earning his 1st save.
The Suns beat the Bears in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Dan Ortiz produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Danny Arroyo, Ortiz gave his team the lead, 5-3, when he hit a 2-run single.
"We found a way to get it done," Ortiz said.
The Aurora win streak is now 3 games.
