The Traverse City Bears went home winners at Greensboro Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Sean Finch. Finch stifled the Corpus Christi Mermen, enabling Traverse City to grab the 5-1 win. Finch yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-4. Nick Gates closed out the game, earning his 1st save.

The tide might have turned in the top of the fourth, had not Sean Finch made a big pitch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Mermen trailing 4-1, he retired Ian Cason when the Corpus Christi center fielder flied out.
