Alcoa got a terrific performance from pitcher Brian Miller, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boise Dread Kings. Boise won the Alcoa Grounds contest, 5-3. Miller threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The save went to Antonio Hermosa, his 6th this season. The Dread Kings, now 42-24, have won 10 in a row.

Boise used a clutch hit from Greg Marston to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dread Kings ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We're playing hard," said Marston, "and we're playing to win."
