Mountaineers Win, 5-2, Versus Libertyville

The Winchester Mountaineers electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
The performance of Ben Everly proved critical in helping Winchester beat Libertyville, 5-2. The Mountaineers catcher went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Steve Gryder picked up the win in relief for Winchester, while Brian White took the loss.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Winchester trailing 2-1, Everly jumped on a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Brian White and hit a grand slam home run to right-center. With one swing, the Mountaineers had a walk-off win.
"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," Everly said.
Winchester improves to 52-16 with the win. They lead their division by 10 games.
