Razor Sharks Drop Another One, 9-2

The Riverside Rotters pinned a convincing loss on the Mesa Razor Sharks, 9-2, at Razor Sharks Ballpark. Greg Mattox was a main factor in the win. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Riverside. Andy Shoemaker went 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The left-hander struck out 7 and walked 2. With the win, he ups his record to 7-4 this season. Mesa, at 27-37, has lost 4 straight.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Mattox hit a 2-run home run off Dustin Mitchell. It propelled the Rotters into the lead, 2-0.
"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Riverside manager Adrian Mercado. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
