The Boise Dread Kings polished off the Traverse City Bears by the score of 5-2. The largest share of the credit belonged to first baseman Steve Wooldridge. Wooldridge was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Dread Kings. The win went to Eugene Ricci in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Justin Bunt took the loss. Mike Trivett collected his 6th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Boise, had it not been for John Fitz, the 26-year old shortstop . Fitz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Boise up, 3-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said Boise manager Sean Drummond.
Traverse City is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
