Cougars Score Late, Topple Wildthings, 9-6
|
The Rohnert Park Cougars and Washington Wildthings completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Rohnert Park shortstop Justin Ottinger contributed significantly to his team's 9-6 win over the Washington Wildthings. Ottinger went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cougars. Chris Hinojosa sewed up the save, his 5th.
Rohnert Park used the timely hitting of Jonathan Raley to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cougars on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Their at-bats were really impressive against us," said losing manager Danny Sanchez.
Washington has now lost 4 consecutive games.
