Bears Deal Wildthings 7-5 Defeat
|
The Traverse City Bears topped the Washington Wildthings, 7-5, with first baseman Tony Robinson playing a big role. Robinson went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Bears in the win. Traverse City reliever Jason Casale was the winner. His record is now 1-4. The losing pitcher was Dan Telford. Aaron Lister finished the game for Traverse City and earned his 2nd save.
Oren Banks took Washington hurler Dan Telford deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Bears on top, 2-1. In all, Banks had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Traverse City manager Zach Hildebrant.
The last-place Wildthings dropped to 14-48.
