Behind the hitting of Ethan Gatto, the Traverse City Bears stopped the Washington Wildthings, 7-4. Gatto was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Bears. The third-place Bears lifted their record to 31-30.

The Bears got a big hit from shortstop David Crawford. Facing Washington pitcher Bob Paterson in the bottom of the fifth, Crawford pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 9th double of the season put the Bears ahead, 5-4.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Crawford said.
