The Riverside Rotters eked out a 3-2 win versus the Libertyville Polecats at Rotters Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Antonio Mendoza. He was terrific. The win lifted the Riverside record to 40-20.

Juan Alcantara, who is tied for 2nd in the E-AA in extra base hits with 32, had a timely hit in the bottom of the sixth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Riverside left fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Rotters in front, 2-1.

"Antonio never lets off the gas," said Riverside manager Hermenegildo Fernando. "Good, bad, or ugly, he never gives in."
