Heathens Come Up Short at Dallas, 6-5
|
The Dallas Dragons defeated the Halifax Heathens, 6-5. First Baseman Matt Williams deserved a large share of the credit. Williams went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Dragons. Dan Mathis earned the save for Dallas, his 5th. The loss has the Heathens at 14-10.
Dave Pimenta, who is tied for 3rd in the AC in home runs with 5, took Halifax hurler Miguel Berrios deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Dragons on top, 6-4. In all, Pimenta had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"It never gets old," said Pimenta. "Winning, that is."
