Behind the hitting of Steve McLaughlin, the Detroit Giants stopped the New York Nightmare, 11-6. McLaughlin was 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Giants. The loss makes the Nightmare 8-16.

Detroit needed the clutch hitting of Evan McCulley to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Giants on top, 9-6. For the game, McCulley had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," McLaughlin told the Detroit Today.
