Cougars Lose By a Run at Boise
The Boise Dread Kings weathered an outstanding game by Rohnert Park third baseman Lance Kelly to topple the Cougars, 8-7. Kelly went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Jean Thiébaut, who threw 92 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. Jordan Gaines finished to wrap up his 21st save.

The Dread Kings got an important contribution from first baseman Wade Baker, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a changeup to center for a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Dread Kings ahead, 6-3.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Dread Kings manager Roberto Flores. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

Boise now owns a record of 35-27.
