Eskimo Brothers Pull Out Late Win, 4-3
|
The Rohnert Park Cougars could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Kyle Yearwood into a win. Instead, the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers prevailed, 4-3. Yearwood threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Eskimo Brothers.
Encinitas needed the clutch hitting of A.J. Cook to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eskimo Brothers on top, 4-3. For the game, Cook had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Encinitas skipper Logan Greening. "I can't complain."
