Running Rebels Rally to Nose Past Traverse City
|
The Traverse City Bears got a superb performance from pitcher Juan Martinez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Fresno. The Running Rebels won the game, 2-1. Martinez threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Jim Unknown claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Fresno is last in the Eastern AA Southen Division with a record of 27-33.
Chris Noyes delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Running Rebels. For the game, Noyes drove in one run.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Noyes told reporters after the game.
